Magical white snake (aka whitesnake) is a magical type of snake.
Background[]
Crispin gave Graham a piece of smoked magical whitesnake, giving him the ability to communicate with the natural and animal world.[1]
White snake allows one to understand, and speak with, animals, trees, and the entire natural world.[2][3]
Graham could understand the weeping willow because of the magical whitesnake.[4]
Behind the scenes[]
This originates from the story the The White Snake compiled in the Green Fairy book by Andrew Lang.
Graham is able to communicate with all the animals, insects and even plants in the game due to the whitesnake. This apparently includes cursed humans such as Alicia (the weeping willow), Manannan (the cat), and Greywolf (the werewolf in the Companion). Although it could be argued these aren’t “natural”. But reference to natural appears to be a reference to flora, while reference to animals is to fauna.
A similar spell Understanding the Language of Creatures should have allowed Gwydion to hear Manannan however at the time Manannan remained unusually quiet…[5] This is confirmed in the fact that Alexander could only understand Manannan's cat another victim of cat cookie with the use of the dough.

The first was a foul tasting piece of smoked magical whitesnake As Graham swallowed it (proud that he did not gag it back up), Crispin informed him that its power would allow him to understand, and speak with, animals, trees, and the entire natural world. The king suspected that would be quite useful.
