The Cave is a landmark in Daventry, it exists as the exit to the Dragon's Lair. It lies on the side of a great boulder, or on a hill near or on the side of the Great Mountains.

Behind the scenes[]

This is marked on the map of Daventry in the King's Quest Companion, 3rd edition simply as "Cave". A number of caves in the games are called simply "Cave' or sometimes Dark Cave. This is one of the only caves to show up on one of the kingdom maps in the King's Quest companion, and the rest generally have proper names (it is portrayed both in the 1st and 3rd editions.).

Another place often simply known as the Cave, is the cave located at the Top of the Cliffs.

The Cave may also refer to the cave on the Isle of the Sacred Mountain near the Catacombs (but that is also sometimes referred to as the Dark Cave). The Isle of the Sacred Mountain is shot through with natural caves. One of them is easily accessible, though hard to find. Interesting things can often be found in caves.[1]

The term Cave may also refer to the inside of the Door into Mountain (or in particular the top exit into the Land of the Clouds).

The Ice Cave in the Snowy Mountains is sometimes simply listed as the Cave.

The cave in, and makes up half of the Land of the Leprechauns is sometimes referred to as simply Cave, but also Dark Cave depending on the source.

In some sources the Oracle Cave is listed simply as Cave.

The Elves Cavern is sometimes referred to as Cave in some sources.

The cave in The Desert of Eldritch is listed simply as Cave in hintbooks.

There is also the Cliff with Caves on the Snowy Mountain.
