Sleeping Beauty was a princess.

Background[]

She slept for a hundred years, rose vines grew over her castle. She could only be awoken by True Love's kiss from Prince Charming.

Rosella once wondered if she would end up like Sleeping Beauty[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The story of Sleeping Beauty is mentioned in King's Quest: See No Weevil, though the princess' name or title is not mentioned. Depending on versions she is known as Briar Rose, Talia, or Aurora.

Roberta referenced Sleeping Beauty in some of her development notes for KQ5: "Sleeping Beauty - prick of finger on spinning wheel, sleep for 100 years"

There is a reference to the banning of spinning wheels from Sleeping Beauty in the KQ reboot series, in chapter 2. But Graham states he did it because of the 'impossible riddle' given to him by Rumplestiltskin (KQGS).
