The Shadow Bane is monster of darkness.
Background[]
The demon is a dark, incorporeal beast, it has neither flesh nor blood. A monstrous shadow bane guarded the threshold to Dimension of Death near the portal to the dimension. It has no element, weapons pass right through it. They can't be destroyed by any weapon only dispelled by magical illumination. Connor used the Magical Ring of Illumination to dispel the creature with a beam of pure light.

This creature appears to be elemental in nature or of the spirit realm. Some sources say it is a demon.
It is unknown how Gwennie or the Kavanagh lad got past it.
