- Science is the opposing force to Magic. It has ties to Mathematics, Philosophy, Technology and some of the other fields.

The practioners of science are known as scientists and are often skeptical of magic.
Most people in Daventry are leary of science and its machines. Specifically they are more concerned about technology. In fact often see technology as a form of the darkest of magic. Any technology, sufficiently advanced, is indistinguishable from magic-Arthur C. Clarke.
Still not all are against science, and it is taught at the Magicians' Academy to round out the students' knowledge. It is not entirely uncommon for magicians to study or use the sciences in their magic.
Farquhar was much learned in the sciences, and scientific names of animals (biology). And some study the concept of evolution of species.
Some study medical sciences. Cardiology 101 is the study of hearts, and keeping them healthy and beating. Heart disease falls under this medical science. Surgeons study the heart.[1] While many healers, doctors and physicians, and apothecarists remedies are more of magical persuation when it comes to taking care of their patients, others have basic scientific knowledge of the body (anatomy).
Other sciences include geology and meteorology.
While magic users and most people in Daventry would purify water through magic, scientists would use Reverse Osmosis.[2]
