Prince Charming is the name for several princes which appear in Fairy Tales. One is the prince who rescued Snow White. The other is the prince who married Cinderella. Another is the prince who saved Sleeping Beauty.
Background[]
Snow White's Charming[]
The young prince found the glass coffin in the woods containing Snow White. He was instantly smitten by the dead girl's beauty. He told his servants to carry the coffin back to his palace, but as they picked it up, one of them stumbled and jarred the coffin. The shock dislodged the piece of poisoned apple from Snow White's throat, and she came back to life. Then they journeyed to his palace and were married.
Cinderella's Charming[]
Behind the scenes[]
The Prince Charmings of Snow White and Cinderella are mentioned (but not by name) in The King's Quest Companion 1st, and 2nd Editions.
Roberta mentions Prince Charming in relation to her own husband Ken Williams in The Official Book of King's Quest. As a child she would daydream of forever slaying dragons, outwitting pirates, traveling through time, and yes, looking for-and sometimes finding-Prince Charming.
Some accounts suggest he helped awaken her with True Love's kiss.
