The Necronomicon (aka the Al Azif) is a dreaded magic book.
Background[]
It was written by the mad Arab Abdul Alhazred. It is a great magical tome feared throughout the world of Daventry. The book contains knowledge so terrible that a mere glance at the text's illustrations and illuminations drives many to madness. It is just as well that few, if any, copies of works such as the Necronomicon remain, or even exist at all.[1]
It contains spells such as Iä R'lyea! Cthulhu ftagn! Iä! Iä!.
Behind the scenes[]
Necronomicon is based on the book of the same name mentioned in H.P. Lovecraft stories. Its worth noting that the Necronomicon and the Al Azif can be seen as technically two different books. The Necronomicon is the greek translation of the original Arabic "Al Azif".
