Background[]

The multiverse concept appears in some fan games some more than others.

In addition, it might be worth considering the various fan game series, and various fan fiction stories as various alternate universes (each separate from the original and reboot canon (Companion, Novels, and game realities) universes, as well as seperate from each other) in a kind of fan multiverse. Hence AGDI's games would exist in one universe, POS would exist in another universe, IA would exist in another universe, etc. Some games might be intended to be 'part of' another developer's universe for example's Owl's Quest but for most part each developer or writer would have created their own history and world building for their own personal universe.

Akril universe[]

POS universe[]

ZZT universe[]

A similar concept to withdrawal and multiverse can be found in the King's Quest ZZT universe, where Jerrod Wilson accidentally stumbles into the World of King's Quest from the world of Gold Rush while trying to find his brother Jake Wilson, and has to be told he isn't in his world anymore.

In, King's Quest ZZT 2, Da'arda the Bard may also exist on another plane in the multiverse. He talks of Daventry being a far away land, but not charted on any available maps. He says it is unreachable by all known sea ways, paths, or rivers. He is only able to visit via dreams. He doesn't know if the land is only a dream, and states that nobody else knows.

AGDI universe[]

A hole in a rock in King's Quest II: Romancing the Stones looks into the world of Quest for Glory (although this is more of an easter egg). In KQ3R, the Llewdorian desert is connected to the desert of Shapeir. A portal on Treasure Island, can take the player to the Forbidden City. The Door of Destiny can take the player to various worlds including the Tower Realm, and others.
