Mordack is a character in King's Quest V (NES) based on the same character from the original King's Quest V on PC.
Background[]
King Graham leaves Castle Daventry to walk in the nearby woods. In his absence, a great wind whirls in and swallows up the castle and everyone inside. When Graham returns but finds no home, he immediately suspects that his long-time enemy, the evil sorcerer, Mordack, is behind the disappearance. His suspicions are confirmed by Cedric, an owl who witnessed the strange occurrence. With the help of Crispin, the kingdom's wizard, and accompanied by Cedric, Graham sets out to find his home and family and return them to their rightful place. In the beginning, his only weapon is a worthless wand, but he gradually finds items that will be useful to him on his quest.
Personality and traits[]
He and Graham have apparently had a long time rivarly. Enough that Graham at least 'knows' of him on some level. Although they may or may not have met in the past. He doesn't let on to Cedric that he knew of Mordack, when they talked about the missing castle however.
Titles and nicknames[]
- Mordak
Behind the scenes[]
Noteably Mordack and Graham have had a rivarly since (Hoyle 3) over various board games (and in the Reboot Canon they had a rivarly long before the events of KQ5).
In the intro cartoon Mordack appears, surrounds the castle with some lightning/electric field, which then disappears, presumably teleported. This is unlike the intro of the computer version, where the castle becomes a cloud and is absorbed into the sky. However when Cedric appears later, he gives a description about a cloud taking the castle, which is seen in the computer intro, but not the NES intro.
