Lewis and Clark were great American explorers known for their mapping skills. They were known for discovering the American West for the first time. They didn't know their way around; they had to map their was as they went and observe what was going on around them. They adapted their thinking to the land they were currently wandering around in. Figuring out what they needed to do.[1]
