Background[]
According to InterAction Sierra had plans to introduce the port to the CDI in 1992.
The Official Book of King's Quest (Second Edition) mentioned CDI version development.
- King's Quest V, like the other Quests in the saga, began as an idea in Roberta Williams's head. But this time there were some business considerations to blend with the story line. Sierra was looking to expand its audience beyond the hard-core players who traditionally buy adventure games, so the Quest had to be easier to solve than the first four. The company was also interested in a product that could be readily transferred to the interactive compact disc machines (CDI) which are expected to hit the entertainment market in a few years.[1]
