King's Quest IV: The Perils of Rosella (Apple IIgs) is an adventure game developed and published by Sierra On-Line in 1988, and it serves as the fourth game in the King's Quest saga. This is a version of KQ4 released for the Apple IIgs computers. Like other Apple II ports the game includes higher quality sound effects and soundtrack.

Background[]

Embark upon a perilous journey into the darkest corners of the King’s Quest universe. Not one, but many successful quests must be completed to save the royal family from a tragic destiny. With a surprise introduction and an equally unexpected conclusion, plot twists abound as you strive to discover the mysteries of a strange land, overcome its hostile inhabitants, and reveal the secrets hidden therein.

Roam the grounds at night and discover areas which remain hidden in daylight hours. Travel swiftly as time is of the essence, as each moment brings the family closer to ruin.

Apple IIgs version[]

  • The door to the fisherman's shack, Dwarf's House, and other locations make creaking noises when opened.
  • The unicorn whinnies.
  • The parrots and/or swan squawks, and parrots tweets.
  • Improved IIGS music.
  • Some color variations compared to other AGI versions.
