King's Quest 4 (tentative title) was the cancelled fourth book in the novel series published by Berkeley Boulevard.
Background[]
It was the first to to have been written by Cindy Vanous, it was to be a tie in to King's Quest: Mask of Eternity. The 'title' comes from the ISBN-style titles (i.e. King's Quest 3: See No Weevil), the finished product likely would have not been given number, and only a subtitle.
- Hell, I'd love to finally write a KQ novel. I almost did, once. A side story, to ship concurrently with Mask. Roberta okayed the outline; Mark greenlit the pitch. Everything was green on Sierra's side, but the publisher nixed the idea. They'd done a couple of KQ tie-in novels recently, and game novels weren't selling well enough. And so it goes.
- I don't remember much, unfortunately, just that it dealt with some of the minor characters from earlier KQ games, teaming up to solve a crisis they accidentally caused before the royal family could find out about it.-Cindy Vanous
