The guide is a very basic strategy guide (it doesn't offer much new info about the game, nor lore). It takes a fairly linear path through the game, offering the name of a location or puzzle, and tells what to do. The interesting fact is that the book follows the "designers' own optimal solution path", tries to tell the game's story efficiently without sacrificing dramatic effect. It also makes note that the game is King's Quest VIII, and that the next one would be King's Quest IX (but unfortunately that never came to pass).
