The Innkeeper's Pal is one of the underlings of the Innkeeper of the Swarthy Hog Inn.

He wanted to rub king Graham out. Like the innkeeper, his hooligan buddies are not so charming Graham found himself in big trouble when he tangled with this bunch.

The character is known as the 'Innkeeper's Pal' in the credits of KQ5. Only the Innkeeper and the Innkeeper's Pal appears in KQ5 for the nes. The other thief does not appear in the game.
Incidentally, these are referred to as thug 1 and thug 2 in the script script files.
