Imbrium fever

Imbrium fever is a disease that spread through Daventry one summer.

Background

Some people contract only mild cases. The danger lies in the mildness of it--if it is too mild, then they may catch it again. No one survives a second attack of Imbrium fever.

Powder is sprinkled in ellenberry cider in order to help the victim sleep.

Behind the scenes

The term imbrium is latin for 'showers' or 'rain'. Thus the name of the disease would suggest it is caught during the rainy seasons.
