Hen is the magic hen that lays golden eggs. She is the pet of Genesta.

Jack once saved the hen that lays golden eggs from an ogre.

Behind the scenes

As an inventory time, Hen is known as the Magic Hen. Genesta mentions that her name is 'Hen' when you return the chicken to her. She is a reference to different stories including the Hen or Goose found in Jack in the Beanstalk's story or the Aesop's Fable The Goose That Lays the Golden Eggs. In Jack in the Beanstalk depending on the version the Giant (see Ogre) has three treasures the "Bag of Gold Coins", the Magic/Golden Hen (or Goose in some stories), and the Singing Harp.
