Titles and nicknames[]
- Genie From the Bottle
Behind the scenes[]
This character was described as the Genie from the Bottle in concept art for KQ5. Surprisingly this character defies the references to Genies in the KQ6 and Guidebook of Green Isles, that states that genies are neither good nor bad, but reflect the soul of their master. However, this genie serves no master and will punish whoever frees it instead of serving them.
The character is listed as The Genie in the credits.
If the player opens the bottle themselves, the genie will trap King Graham instead of the witch.
The Fisherman and the Jinni," tells the story of a fisherman who nets a copper jar after a day of failed attempts and decides to sell it but notices it is capped with the seal of Sulaimān, or Solomon. He removes the cap and the jinni (an Ifrit) appears as a vaporous entity who relates to him that his captivity has lasted for five centuries: the first century he offered unlimited forever blessings, second century he would have offered great wealth, third century he had determined to bless its liberator with three wishes, by the fourth century it had decided to curse them instead with the choice of their death. It was rediscovered at least a century later …The quick witted fisherman told the jinni a tale after tricking it back into its bottle and once the tale was finished the jinni decided to reward the fisherman for his mercy and cleverness.
