Background[]
David of Israel slew Goliath the giant with naught but a Stone and a Sling.
When David was but a young boy, he was made King Saul's champion against the giant Goliath who fought for the Phillistines against Israel. The boy David killed Goliath by striking him on the head with a stone shot from his sling. David kept Goliath's sword and used it later when he fought Saul, becoming the next king of Israel. Years later he passed the kingdom onto his son, Solomon.
This story is recorded in the Bible.
