Companions

Companions are characters who follow, help (as transportation), lead the character somewhere, or are carried by the player character in their inventory in a King’s Quest game.

Other animals such as mother rat and ants might help the player but are never directly in the players inventory nor remain with the player for a section of the game.

Some like golden fish might be both inventory item as well as transportation during a cutscene. While some characters such as Graywolf lead characters during cutscenes only.
