What's going on here??

Um... wow.  So, I haven't been to the wiki in a long while.  And I'm very disheartened to see what state it's in.

There is SO MUCH CONJECTURE going on in the articles!  I came here just now to get a list of characters in See No Weevil.  What happened??

Here's a good example: "David of Bruce" shows up in the list.  I'm saying "wait a minute, that was only in the Companion, what's that doing here?"  So I click... this entry is a mess!  Apparently, in See No Weevil, in the Purple Pig tavern, Rosella noticed someone had carved "David was here" into the bar.  I do vaguely remember that, now that you mention it.  But deciding this was the character Sir David of Bruce is absurd!  There was a knight named David in Kingdom of Sorrow.  He's also been lump…

Baggins' Review - King's Quest Chapter 6: Epilogue

This is my final review for the King's Quest reboot... I've mostly avoided making a review for this chapter because its short, and doesn't really add much to the ending that Chapter 5 didn't cover. It's mostly 'stand alone' so I'll judge it on its own, and it has no impact on my overall score for the entire series see Baggins Review - King's Quest Chapter V.

My Score:

9/10

  • 1 Story
  • 2 Sound, Voices, Music and Characters
  • 3 Length and Exploration
  • 4 Animation
  • 5 Art Design
  • 6 Puzzles
  • 7 Presentation
  • 8 The Bad
  • 9 Final Thoughts

Gwendolyn goes on her first adventure and meets a new friend.

Not much to say here, its quite wimple little adventure. Gwendolyn is trying to fill her Grandfather's hat and shoes.... She has a long awy to go.

The adventure conists mostly of a huntin…

Baggins' Review - King's Quest Chapter V: The Good Knight

Baggins' Review

King’s Quest Chapter V: The Good Knight. Versions Reviewed (PS3, PS4 and PC versions)

Final Score:

8.5/10 for the chapter.
7.8/10 for the entire season.

I continue my review series, this time reviewing the final chapter of the series Chapter 5: The Good Knight.

The chapter tells the final story with choices made in the earlier acts all coming together for the final time. This chapter comes full circle, returning to locations of the first chapter now with 70-80 years worth of time having passed by. Because this chapter makes callbacks to the first chapter, the story isn't nearly as 'stand-alone' as previous stories. But it one of the strongtest stories from a narrative stand point in the series. Like the previous chapter this one …

Baggins' Review - King's Quest Chapter IV: Snow Place Like Home

Baggins' Review

King’s Quest Chapter IV: Snow Place Like Home. Versions Reviewed (PS3, PS4 and PC versions)

Final Score: 6/10

I continue my review series, this time reviewing the penultimate fourth chapter of the reimagined King’s Quest. The chapter tells another more or less 'standalone' story with choices you made in previous chapters having an impact. This chapter like the second goes back to a somewhat more claustorphobic destination in the location of the Ice Palace/Frozen Castle. However, the fairly long first half and introduction does allow for some more open outside visuals, although much of the locations are places we have seen already. While there are elements that require knowledge of previous events, the story itself still remain…

Baggins' Review - King's Quest Chapter III: Once Upon a Climb

Baggins' Review

King’s Quest Chapter III: Once Upon a Climb. Versions Reviewed (PS3, PS4 and PC versions)

Final Score: 8/10

I continue my review series, this time reviewing the third chapter of the reimagined King’s Quest. Again it pretty much stands on its own merits, and is a great game in its own right. After the first chapter this is the second to have a pretty clear and stand alone story. While some elements do require knowledge of previous events, this chapters world feels more expansive and less claustrophobic.

Baggins' Review - King's Quest Chapter II: Rubble Without a Cause

Baggins' Review

King’s Quest Chapter II: Rubble Without a Cause. Versions Reviewed (PS3, PS4 and PC versions)

Final Score: 7/10

I continue my review series, this time on second chapter of the reimagined King’s Quest. Again it pretty much stands on its own merits, and is a great game in its own right (though in some ways it does rely on knowledge of the previous chapter, and your choices in that chapter).

  • 1 Story
  • 2 Length & Exploration
  • 3 Sound/Voices & Characters
  • 4 Animation
  • 5 Art Design
  • 6 Puzzles
  • 7 Presentation
  • 8 The Bad
  • 9 Final Thoughts

Again I'll choose to avoid major spoilers. The game begins with a young King Graham looking into the mirror and seeing a vision of an Older Graham, being chased by a dragon. This appears to be foreshadowing but its relevance is…

Baggins' Review: King's Quest Chapter I: A Knight to Remember

Baggins' Review

King’s Quest Chapter I: A Knight to Remember. Versions Reviewed (PS3 and PC versions)

Final Score: 9/10

I’m reviewing the first chapter of the reimagined King’s Quest. While it is the first part of a five part series (plus playable epilogue). It largely stands on its own merits, and is a great game in its own right.

  • 1 Story
  • 2 Length & Exploration
  • 3 Sound/Voices & Characters
  • 4 Animation
  • 5 Art Design
  • 6 Puzzles
  • 7 Presentation
  • 8 The Bad
  • 9 Final Thoughts

I won’t discuss the story much as I want to avoid spoilers. There are three main components to this chapter. The story takes much of its influence from The Princess Bride, and there are very few ‘direct’ fairy tale references (that I noticed). There are a few indirect offhand remarks in some of the c…

No Silver Lining in the deal; straight–up Big Whooping your ass!

I rebound your rhymes like a rubber tree;

Shut you out your Door of Destiny.
