An alternate universe is another universe

it is often a variant form of the real world, depicting a different way events could have unfolded or the universe could have functioned. In other words alternate universe is one of many possible universes, which may have different physical laws or a different history than our own.

The Realm of Eldritch exists in an alternate universe to World of Daventry. This realm may also be known as Faerieland. Rosella and her mother travelled through the place between the worlds to reach Eldritch.

Behind the scenes

While the three terms are generally synonymous and can be used interchangeably in most cases, there is sometimes an additional connotation implied with the term "alternate universe/reality" that implies that the reality is a variant of our own, with some overlap with the similarly-named alternate history. The term "parallel universe" is more general, without implying a relationship, or lack of relationship, with our own universe. A universe where the very laws of natureare different – for example, one in which there are no Laws of Motion – would in general count as a parallel universe but not an alternative reality and a concept between both fantasy world and Earth.

In the reboot universe the land of Daventry exists in the same universe as Eldritch. It’s not known if this is same Eldritch as Realm of Eldritch (from the original King's Quest Universe) or an alternate reality Eldritch in yet another alternate universe.

In a number of ways reboot Daventry has more in common with KQ7 “land beyond dreams” universe than it does with original World of Daventry. It may have some similarities to the World of Serenia from KQ5 NES as well. Such as both setting up Manny and Mordon as rivals of Graham, and not just Alexander.

Did reboot Rosella ultimately end up marrying the same Edgar that fell for classic universe Rosella? And they ultimately married? Was classic Rosella forced to marry Connor from her own universe instead?
