Achilles (aka Achille) was a Greek hero of the Trojan War.

Background

Born in Greece, he was said to be invulnerable because he had dipped into the waters of the river Styx as a baby. The only way to wound Achilles was by striking his heel—the only part of his body that did not go into the water. It was an arrow wound to the heel that finally led to his death. Some believed that his shield would bestow Achilles' invulnerability on its bearer, but it was supposedly lost after being placed upon the hero's chest as his body burned on its funeral pyre.[1]

How the Shield of Achille came into the hands of the Kingdom of Daventry is unknown.
